How we
choose well.
Beyond the postcard moment: a thoughtful way to discover extraordinary stays.
A beautiful hotel is only the beginning.
Stay curious.Voyage in Design is an independent editorial journal for people who care about where they stay — and why it feels special. We love the meeting point of travel, architecture and atmosphere.
We don’t rank places by the loudest luxury claims. Our aim is to help you find the stay that suits the way you want to travel: a quiet architectural retreat, a pool with a remarkable horizon, or a thoughtful family resort.
Sense of place
We look for hotels connected to their surroundings — through landscape, culture, architecture or the character of a neighborhood. The best spaces belong somewhere, rather than looking as if they could be anywhere.
Design that feels good
We consider proportion, materials, natural light and the flow of a space. A striking photograph may get our attention; thoughtful architecture and everyday comfort give a stay lasting appeal.
Experiences that matter
A beautiful pool, intimate dining room, restorative spa or family-friendly setting can transform a trip. We ask who will genuinely enjoy an experience, not whether a hotel simply lists it as an amenity.
Useful details, not just beautiful images
Location, room categories, accessibility, seasonal considerations and practical trade-offs matter. A truly helpful hotel guide shows the pleasures and the decisions a traveler needs to make.

Editorial, not a personal review of every stay.
We distinguish information researched from available sources from direct experience. Unless a guide specifically says otherwise, it should not be read as a claim that our editors stayed at the hotel.
Facilities, prices and policies can change. Always confirm the details important to you with the hotel or booking provider before committing.
Editorial transparency ↗Travel the way you feel.
Explore places by the experience you hope to remember. The best choice isn’t always the most expensive — it’s the place that feels right.
